Coronation Park Winter Photoshoot | Red Deer Portrait Photographer

What better way to celebrate your last year in your 30’s than with a birthday shoot! Meghan is always such a joy to photograph, we always have a great time together. She is sweet, kind and also a total babe! Meghan wanted to mark the transition in a unique way—by saying farewell to her 30s with a creative and lighthearted photo shoot. We met at Coronation Park downtown, with balloons floating in the wind, we set the stage for a visual tribute to a decade filled with growth, wisdom, and unforgettable moments.

Aging is often viewed with hesitation, but it should be celebrated. Every passing year is an opportunity to experience life more fully, to gain deeper insight, and to cherish the journey. My client’s 30s were a time of transformation—of learning hard lessons, building lasting connections, and stepping into her true self with confidence and grace.

This shoot wasn’t about mourning the end of something—it was about honoring all that has been and welcoming what’s next. Every laugh line tells a story, every experience has shaped who she is today, and every chapter has been a stepping stone toward an even brighter future.

Now, as she steps into her 40s, she does so with excitement, gratitude, and a touch of playful mischief. Here’s to celebrating life at every stage and making every moment count!

Petal & Blum Red Deer Florist Branding Session | Red Deer Brand Photographer

Meet the bubbly mastermind behind one of my favourite florists in Red Deer, Rebecca who owns Petal & Blum! Rebecca is a genuinely kind woman who’s roots run deep (not sorry for plant puns) in the greenhouse industry. I love her personality and her creations, they’re always so inspiring. She is truly always about creating community, which is also a huge passion of mine. There is a whole big world out there, and more than enough clients for everyone and we’re firm believers in community over competition. It’s not a very common concept to some, but we thrive in growing positive connections with others, and I think that’s beautiful!

We always have such a good time together, these shots were taken at my Motherhood Mini’s last year in Red Deer, and the flower wall was Rebecca’s idea! She made custom bouquets with all of my clients, and then we did some fun behind the scenes stuff too because well… social media, am I right?

Here’s the ray of sunshine herself, and she also brought along some divine delectables from Berry Bean Chocolate who is based out of Sylvan Lake. You MUST try them, so good!

Red Deer Family Studio Portraits | Red Deer Family Photographer

Megan and her two littles joined us in our downtown Red Deer studio for the Motherhood Mini sessions I hosted, and goodness they’re just the cutest! Megan works so hard to provide a safe and loving environment for her kids, and I have a huge place in my heart for her kind soul and her kiddos.

I too was a single mom for a long time, it’s not a journey that I had ever imagined that I would walk, but you do it because you want better for your children. That looks different for everyone, and I commend all families that can put their kids first in a way that is helpful and positive for everyone.

Being a mother really changed me as a person and as a photographer. You realize so many things are more precious like time, moments, and feelings. The main goal I have for every session is to capture you and your loved ones in this very moment in front of my lens, just as perfect and beautiful as you are now. So that you can look back and cherish those moments forever. The way your babies hair smelled in the moment you were snuggling up so close. The way that your hair falls in your face when you’re giggling along with your babies as you tickle them. The way that they look at you because to them, their momma is the most precious person in the world.

I could not be more grateful for the opportunities that photography has provided to me, and to have done this for 15 years now is such a blessing. Alberta has truly made me so passionate about my photography, there’s so many stunning places to capture with my camera and they’re all made possible thanks to all of my clients.

Enough of my emotional ramblings, check these cuties out!
