I can’t tell you how much I love empowering women through my art. The absolute privilege that I get when women put their vulnerability all out there, and we can go through this journey in a safe space together, that’s what my process and experience come down to. Growing your self confidence, loving yourself, your body just as it is… I LIVE FOR THIS! This is my why, this is why I do boudoir photography. Loving yourself is a revolution, I am here to show you the road map to your own revolution.
I have met so many amazing women from all over, and the one common denominator is that everyone feels like they are inadequate in some way to have this empowering experience. THAT IS A LIE. Society and media lie and tell you and make you feel that you are not worth, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not feminine enough, not skinny enough, not curvy enough, not together enough. It’s all a lie to sell you some bullshit product you do not need and will not help you be any of those things that you feel you are not. I’m here to break that thought pattern.
Miss B came to me from Airdrie, which again is such an honour for me that you chose me. I do want to make it clear that I do travel for sessions all over the province, Canada and Internationally. I love shooting outdoors, indoors, anywhere! I want to showcase you and your vibe, each experience is different and unique and I want to showcase you!
Miss B has one of the most beautiful personalities, she has an infectious smile, and can we just admire this beautiful woman’s hair. Wow. We played around with some ice, which was so fun! I can’t wait to get her in front of my camera again! This gorgeous momma of 3 has felt some kind of way about herself her whole life. We chatted about this at length, and I can’t tell you how many times I have had this conversation with the majority of ladies who get in front of my camera.
She had this to say about her time with me:
At 39 I definitely thought I’d have learned how to move past the war with the reflection in the mirror, but I haven’t. When the loveliest photographer Ashley King Photography had an idea for some upcoming shoots that she wanted to do and asked if I would come take part I said yes and immediately regretted it. I knew I’d hate the photos. And then I got there and we laughed and she made me feel like the flaws I found in my body were the story of my 39 years, and I left feeling lighter and like maybe I should reconsider the girl in the mirror. Thank you to women like Ashley who take photos of real women and make us believe that the scars and the years are the beauty marks of life. I’m a work in progress, but with this village of incredible women I’ve built around me hopefully I’ll get there someday. Anyways.. this is your sign to get in front of the camera and book a shoot with Ashley. You won’t regret it. Well, you might a little at first but it’ll go away when you meet her.
