Nicole + Justin Red Deer Couples Session Rotary Park | Ashley King Photography | Central Alberta Couples Photographer

Nicole and I went to Eveline Charles together to study makeup and we became instant friends. It’s hard not to love a girl like Nicole with her amazing personality, she is funny as heck, and she is also stunning. She is from South Africa, and has the cutest freaking accent ever. Justin and Nicole drove from Calgary (along with Nicole’s mom because of course we got some photos with them as well) for their shoot! We went to Rotary Park in Red Deer, which is lovely at all times of the year, but this particular day we were blessed with some warmer temps and lovely sun! Tuffy (the cutest dog ever), also had a turn in the photos which made for a perfect moment! Naturally these two were all giggles and stellar in front of the camera. And also I love that they finished in their own special way by shotgunning! Don’t be afraid to shoot in different seasons, it can make for some pretty beautiful photos!

Nowochin Family | Sylvan Lake Family Photographer

Meet the wild and crazy Nowochin family. These are some of my favourite humans. Deanna and I have been friends for almost as long as I’ve been doing photography. I also had the pleasure of capturing their wedding a couple of years ago, which happened to be a lovely winter wedding in the beautiful town of Lacombe.

We had been trying to get a beach session for so long, but the Alberta weather had other plans. We rescheduled a record SEVEN times!! We were determined. Alberta gave us one seriously beautiful day to make up for it though!

We met up at Gull Lake and just let the kids play, it’s my favourite thing to get kids just doing their thing in their own element. Here’s all the cuteness!

Canmore Iron Goat Pub Micro Wedding | Brooke + Ryan | Canmore Elopement Photographer

Brooke and Ryan eloped in front of their friends and family in an intimate wedding ceremony at the Iron Goat Pub & Grill. They turn their upstairs patio into a perfect ceremony space for the unpredictable mountain weather. Once their ceremony was complete, Iron Goat flipped their outside ceremony space into their reception space.

Something that is becoming more of a common wedding photography trend is to do a first look and portraits before hand. In this case, that worked perfectly since it allowed us the time to get the locations and shots we needed to before the ceremony so that afterwards no one had to leave Iron Goat Pub and could just stay and enjoy their meal after the ceremony. This is a great way to maximize your time getting photos done.

We had a little bit of rain here and there, but that’s Alberta. Wait 20 minutes and the weather changes again most of the time. Thankfully it basically waited for us to be done with our quick photos before it really started to come down. Ryan quickly changed into his Red Serge for a few snaps after, and for the reception!

Brooke + Ryan came down from Peace River, Alberta to get married in one of their favourite places. I am so blessed to have been able to capture their intimate elopement in Canmore. It is the greatest honour when my fellow RCMP families choose me to be a part of their special memories.
